The game begins with a "Moderator" secretly assigning roles to all players. It operates in two alternating phases:
- Night Phase: All players close their eyes. The Mafia wakes up silently to choose a victim. Special characters also wake up: the "Doctor" attempts to save a player, and the "Detective" investigates someone's true identity through the moderator.
- Day Phase: Everyone opens their eyes, and the moderator reveals who was killed. The remaining players engage in intense discussions to find the culprits. The Mafia tries to lie and blend in, while Civilians analyze body language and arguments to uncover the liars. The day ends with a majority vote to eliminate the main suspect. The game ends when either all Mafia members are eliminated (Civilians win) or the Mafia equals the number of Civilians (Mafia wins).
